Essay Writing Competition

In grade 11, I participated in an essay writing competition organized by GEMA, focused on the theme of volunteering and giving back to the community. The contest encouraged students to reflect on the value of service and its role in shaping a compassionate society. In my essay, I emphasized that true progress is not defined by individual achievements but by collective growth. I wrote about how volunteering nurtures empathy, strengthens human connections in an increasingly isolated world, and teaches children the importance of compassion and responsibility. Drawing from real-life examples, I aimed to inspire others to see giving back as both a duty and a source of fulfilment.
